Thank you so much for this podcast!! I think it’s important that people are still talking about this, because I routinely see commentary online about how diet-associated DCM “isn’t an issue,” or “was completely retracted” or “the FDA changed their mind,” etc. There’s so much misinformation online about pet food.

I love that you referred to Petfoodology at Tuft’s for additional information, and I agree that there’s been a lull in newly published commentary on the issue.

For additional resources if people would like, there’s a Facebook group called Diet Associated Dilated Cardiomyopathy in dogs, with over 100,000 members, that’s moderated by a team of pet professionals and veterinarians, with advising by some of the cardiologists researching the issue. Affected owners post their stories there, after submitting veterinary records to the admin team.

There is also a “sister group” to that one for veterinary professionals where cases and emerging research are discussed.

I also routinely post about this issue on my blog, just to try and keep the conversation going. Most recently, the FDA hosted a pet food listening session, where dozens of pet owners posted comments into a public docket about their dogs who were affected by dietary DCM.

Thank you again for discussing this important issue!! I’ve shared the podcast link with the admin team of that group.
